Monarch vs Saskatoon Giants

Are you a team looking to come to sunny Medicine Hat for some great baseball?

Medicine Hat “Monarchs” will host a Baseball Tournament on May 26, 27 & 28.
Information has been sent to various American Legion teams and to
similar calibre 18U Provincial programs, Babe Ruth & Big League teams from other
associations. Interested teams are asked to apply.

Games will be played at Jefferies & McCoy fields at the Kinsmen Baseball Complex and
available times at Athletic Park. These facilities feature fully fenced, grass-infield baseball
diamonds with dugouts, stands, concessions, batting cages, and score clocks. Jefferies &
Athletic Park have lights.

This tournament will be a wood-bat event. All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of four
games. Games will be scheduled for seven innings with a 10-run mercy rule in effect after 5
innings or 4½ innings if the home team is ahead. Teams must be prepared to play their first
game on Friday at 2:00 if scheduled. Consideration for a 5:00 pm start Friday will be given to teams that travel the farthest. All teams will play Friday.

The entry fee for this event is one dozen baseballs and $600.00 Canadian payable to “Medicine Hat Baseball”. Once teams are accepted, they are asked to send the entry fee to the address below.

Individual awards will be presented to the top two teams in the tournament, a maximum of 20 awards per team.

Our tournament has had College and Pro Scouts attend in the past, and we will encourage all scouts to attend our 2023 tournament.

The American Legion Baseball program's age limit is 19 years. Therefore, players born in 2004 or later are eligible for the 2023 season.

We plan for this tournament to be a quality event. If you'd like to be considered for entry, please get in touch with Brad Moch at the contacts below. Applications will be considered until the event is full at eight teams. Further information regarding the tournament schedule, rules, accommodations, city diamond directions etc., will be forwarded to all accepted teams. Summer months in Medicine Hat can be busy with other events so book accommodations early once we have provided information on preferred hotels.
