MH American Legion Baseball 2022 Fees, Fundraising & Credits
The fees for the 2022 season will be $2,200. Should parents choose to not participate in fundraising, this is the fee that will be required upon invoice in May 2022, less the $300.00 player registration fee.
There are several options for fundraising that can help offset the cost. Credits are awarded for participation in fundraising and these are offered in Bingos, Casinos and the Souvenir program.
Bingos
A Bingo fee per family of $200 will be charged at the beginning of the season. If each family works four bingos, they will receive their $200 back as well as the regular $40 credit per bingo. All four must be worked to get the $200 back and they are not pro-rated. Each bingo slot worked is credited with $40 toward the cost of fees. There is no limit as to how many can be worked, or the number of slots filled at each bingo. Other family members or friends can work and the player’s family is credited $40 for each person working. The Bingo Chairperson will monitor to maintain equality.
Casino
Because of the longer and later hours, each casino worked is worth two credits ($80). Again the Casino Chairperson will monitor to maintain equality.
Souvenir Program
Ad are sold by parents/players with 20% of the sale price going toward the player’s fees. Program ads range from $75 to $350 (ie. $200 worth of ads would mean a reduction of $40 in fees). The fee reduction will not be issued until the program ad payment has been received.
Refunds
The maximum refund of credits for a player is $250. This refund is applicable at the end of a player’s career and is in effect only if the player is in good standing with the American Legion Program. Players quitting before expiration of their eligibility do not qualify for this refund.
Each year there are a large number of families who have very reduced fees as they have earned enough credits to cover a good portion of their fees. As the cost of running the program escalates each year, fundraising becomes our lifeline. Parental participation is critical for the ongoing support. Without fundraising the costs of player fees would be substantially higher, and it could make it difficult for all families to participate. Fees contribute about one-fifth of the cost of operating the program.
Parents are also expected to help out at the regular season events, such as tournaments and home games.
